Applied Research Serving the Wine Industry

The wine industry has felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in many ways. While we are all concerned for the health of our colleagues and customers, the economic impacts have already been felt and will continue to be throughout the coming months. With this in mind, the decision has been made to pause ROC activities until the Applied Research support the ROC provides is a better fit for the state of the industry. Thank you for all of your engagement, enthusiasm and support thus far, we look forward to continuing our relationships with our Members, Sponsors and Partners in the near future. The ROC will be publishing the 2019 trial ROC Reports on the website and I will continue to be available by phone or email for any concerns, questions or discussions. Peter Salamone, ROC CEO

The Research Oenovation Collective (ROC) is an applied research platform that brings growers, vintners and suppliers together to address issues of importance to the US wine industry. By listening closely to the needs of professionals involved in wine production as well as the advice provided by trusted industry experts, ROC coordinates the design, prioritization, execution, evaluation and communication of trials and research projects leading to the development of industry best practices and improved environmental sustainability.

Grape Growing

Great wines begin in the vineyard and viticulture trials are fundamental to refining vineyard practices that can impact quality winegrowing.

Wine Making

Grape handling and sorting, crush pad activities, fermentation and ageing all require stewardship of process to bring great wines to life.

Encouraging a culture of environmental awareness by integrating environmental sustainability best practices into our trial results.
